    Hi,
    i have just made another installation of modxcms.
    Problem is that something is wrong.
    To be more accurate. When I am logged in the manager works but the main sites gives me back something like this:
    « MODx Parse Error »MODx encountered the following error while attempting to parse the requested resource:
    « PHP Parse Error »

    PHP error debug
    Error: output(/home/www/htdocs/promocja//home/www/htdocs/promocja/assets/modules/quick_edit/lang/english.inc.php) [function.output]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory
    Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
    File: /home/www/htdocs/promocja/assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php
    Line: 54
    Line 54 source: include_once ($qe_eng_path);

    I tried to delete the whole quick edit module but it didnt help.
    As you can see the path to the file in first error line is repeated. I have no idea why. I tried to use search but couldnt find anyting.
    I saw similar mistake in some ditto thread but i guess it was development issue.
    Does anyone know what to do with it?

      Well, the error is stating that it can’t find the english.inc.php in your QuickEdit folder. One of two actions can be done here:

      1. Check that all the QuickEdit files are present under assets/module. Maybe something like an FTP issue has meant that not all files have been transferred.
      2. If you have disabled QuickEdit, make sure you disabled BOTH the plugin and module.

        Thanks for fast reply. It helped. At least a little bit.
        Removing the plugin solved the problem.
        Now i it works but i dont have quick edit. However earlier I tried to upload all the files and it didnt helpe. I check attributes and so on. Does anyone have any ide where this problem may come from?

        I tried to re-install the quick edit.
        The error comes back. It looks like this:
        Error: Unknown(assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory
        Error type/ Nr.: Warning - 2
        File: /home/www/htdocs/promocja/manager/includes/document.parser.class.inc.php(745) : eval()’d code
        Line: 70

          This may be related to what I encountered recently relating to the configuration for the "assets" directory.

          your first error message:
          /home/www/htdocs/promocja//home/www/htdocs/promocja/assets/modules/quick_edit/lang/english.inc.php

          and now your new error message:
          Unknown(assets/modules/quick_edit/output.class.inc.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory

          clearly shows a path problem...

          try looking at the "resource path" and "resource url" in site configuration (the "interface and features" tab)
          The resource url may need to be something like: (using the forward slash)
          /promocja/assets/

            Yeah.
            This is baisicly the first place i looked into. It doesnt help though.
            I even compared the paths (URL and resource) to another installation where everything works fine.
            The difference may be that the broken installation works on older php version. Maybe the quickedit script uses some kind of function that doesnt work properly.
            Im no php guru so it is hard to tell for me.
            Quick edit plugin creates the path to file that it cannot open in such a way (as far as I understand):

            if(!isset($mod_path)) { $mod_path = $modx->config['base_path'].'assets/modules/quick_edit'; }

            Im running on php 4.4 if i remember correctly.

              The base_path is calculated at run-time by the config.inc.php file. It’s possible that the server is configured in such a way that it is not returning the standard SERVER values. You can check this in Reports -> System Info, and the phpinfo() view link. All the SERVER variables are at the bottom of the report.

                But based on which server variable is the path calculated and how should it look like whet it is set correctly. (general descrption will do).
                Thanks for replay in advance.

                  Take a look at the config.inc.php file.
                  // automatically assign base_path and base_url
                  if(empty($base_path)||empty($base_url)||$_REQUEST['base_path']||$_REQUEST['base_url']) {
                      $sapi= 'undefined';
                      if (!strstr($_SERVER['PHP_SELF'], $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME']) && ($sapi= @ php_sapi_name()) == 'cgi') {
                          $script_name= $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'];
                      } else {
                          $script_name= $_SERVER['SCRIPT_NAME'];
                      }
                      $a= explode("/manager", str_replace("\\", "/", dirname($script_name)));

                    Just did that. Everything looks fine as well. While comparing the variables to the pfp_info from working installation.
                    It is really strange for me.
                    The funniest thing is that everything else works great (no problems with ditto, tamplates or anything i used so far on this installation).
