Hi all,
I've been testing this on several sites and also my modx-cloud test cloud and i can't get @INHERIT to work for a TV.
I made a tv ('test', type=text) and gave it @INHERIT as a default value and i made it required.
I made a parent document and gave the TV a value of 'Bloody work!'. Next made a child page gave it a name and tried to save.
resulting in a cannot save message because the TV has no value and it is required.
The value 'Bloody work!' has not been inherited by the child page.
Am i doing something wrong, or is this a bug in 2.2.12pl?
Thanks,
RDG
Strange, in 2.2.11, it works as should. It recognizes inherited value as a real value.
Hopefully it's not a bug, as I am about to upgrade. I hate TV problems.
Was the TV in Rich Text before?
Are the two resources using the same Template?
What happens when you reset the value in the child, by hitting the green TV refresh thing?

Hi,
what i found out so far on one installation 2.2.12 i have a TV MytestTV and its defalut value is set to @INHERIT and is required.
I create a page in the root with 'MytestTV' = 'level1, next i create a child for that page.
I a get an error upon saving stateing that the TV is empty and is required.
I fill out the TV with value 'Level2' and the page saves.
Next i create a child for this child. This child creates fine and saves immediately ok BUT has an inherited value for 'MytestTV' of 'Level1'.
Sinces this page parent has a value of 'Level2'this is realy weird. So
rootpage > tvvalue = level1
- childpage > tvvalue = level2
-- childpage >tvvalue = level1
This doesn't happen on a fresh install on modx cloud. so its not a bug in 2.2.12. i think its a conflict with a Extra or plugin
