I'm developing a site that will offer the content editors the facility to create long posts that contain any mix of text, images and/or groups of images. The post structure will be entirely up to the editors, and so the MIGX plugin is almost certainly what I'll be using.
I've used MIGX along with the "Gallery" plugin before (a while ago), but to my recollection the dialog between the two was a little convoluted - it certainly worked, but it wasn't necessarily the most intuitive workflow for the editors to learn.
I've just noticed there's another image-based plugin called "Cliche", that seems to have a few thousand downloads, and I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with it; i.e. how does it compare to Gallery, does it work nicely with MIGX, and (most importantly) does it offer a convenient and efficient workflow for the enduser?

Or you can go and buy
MoreGallery from
Modmore, it's not free but your users will love it.
Otherwise I would stick with MIGX, it offers more flexibility than Gallery or Cliche.
Thanks benmarte - it looks as though MIGX has evolved quite a bit since I last used it, and doesn't really need Gallery any more.
Could be just what I need!
you can build your very own gallery-management with MIGX/MIGXdb and you can have nested MIGX/MIGXdb fields inside MIGX, if you need that,
or you can create dynamic listbox-fields to fetch images from other gallery-tables,
or you can search/select from grids.
example:

The possibilities look vast (maybe that should read daunting). That said, it looks pretty close to what I'm after.
Having a utility that autoresizes images on upload appears to be lacking, and could be beneficial, but maybe that could be written in via a snippet? My php knowledge is severely lacking, but I imagine it's relatively easy to implement. Anyway, thanks for the tutorial link - I'll be poring over that in due course.
autoresize on upload. Here's an example:
http://rtfm.modx.com/extras/revo/migx/migx.tutorials/migx.use-resource-specific-mediasource-and-multifile-uploader
also multiple image-formats are possible, configurable within the used mediasource here.
Thank you - that's all very reassuring.
