Currently I am developing for my own needs "MODX to local" migration plugin.
What currently works:
Export of Chunks as separate Folder with category sub-folders as .tpl files. The same goes for snippets, but as .php files.
Plans:
When plugin runs, it will save all the content of your site to local folders and create a link in DB entry for them. This is equal as setting, for example, snippet as external file and specify path to him. Of course, the link will be written according to context: web/chunks/chunk.tpl.
Watch for local folder change and add an entry to the DB with specified pagetitle/alias, etc. And here is the problem. The better way to do it is a plugin for PHPStorm, for example. And i have no idea (for now) how to write it.
Smarty implementation.
That's all for now. Let me know if this plugin will be helplful to someone.
Snippets never should contain anything thats needed to translate. Snippets should always rely on Chunks and Lexicon Entries. So maybe this part isn`t that important?
When we have lang specific chunks we usually call them with [[$chunk-[[*cultureKey]]]]
Something I would really like is some the last Part, some chunk creating while in PHPStorm would be great. Already thought about this ,)
