2.2.12 installation problems

This is what I am getting now. I was previously kicking myself trying to manually make a new database since the modx install couldnt do it...

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '{' in /home/darrinkn/public_html/modx/core/config/config.inc.php on line 13

I have absolutely no idea what to do about this.

small update:
I opened config.inc. went to line 13 and added ' marks going from this:

$config_options = {config_options};
$driver_options = {driver_options};

to this

$config_options = '{config_options}';
$driver_options = '{driver_options}';

but then the same error threw on line 89. So I similarly went to 89 and added some marks.

$modx_cache_disabled= '{cache_disabled}';

And NOW we are here:

Fatal error: Class 'xPDODriver_' not found in /home/darrinkn/public_html/modx/core/xpdo/xpdo.class.php on line 1867

My guess is that you have one or more missing or corrupted files in the install. This is fairly common if you transfer the files individually with FTP.

Those should not appear in the config.inc.php file after installation. They are for internal installation functionality. If you see them it's because the installation failed at some point.
