First of all, hello MODX community
I've begun my MODX journey few days ago. It's been pretty enjoyable ride so far.
I needed image field with cropping function so I've happily installed Image+. Everything seemed fine until i've started doing crops.
Poof. No cropping for you!
I've rulled out problems with Image+ TV and started checking out "raw" output of various thumbnail engines. phpthumbof, phpthumbsup, phpthumbson, pthumb. Nada. Zip. Nothing worked. So I've figured out that there must be something wrong with core phpthumb class. After some debugging I've found out that phpthumb wasn't using GD, but because i've got ImageMagick installed, phpthumb wanted to use "convert" shell command. After some more digging I located one tiny line that was runing whole cropping mechanism. Line 1505 of phpthumb.class.php
$commandline .= ' -crop '.escapeshellarg($crop_param);
which is responsible for adding crop modificator to shell command is ... commented out... damn you phpthumb! So I've checked sourceforge repository zip archive of phpthumb, and it's also commented out. Damn you again phpthumb! So version 1.7.11-201108081537 is just simply broken when it comes to cropping. On sourceforge there is also version 1.7.12 which is working just fine and damned line is not commented out, so everything works fine. Removing comment from line 1505 also fixes cropping in 1.7.11.
I'm pretty surprised that noone had problems with that before me.
