EventManager had this option using a FormIt but it's been abandoned for years. Is there a good alternative or solution for this? EventsX, mxCalender and ChurchCalendar only list events and the many other plugins and APIs (Time.ly, UpTo etc.) i've come across are pretty-much all Wordpress based... Thanks in advance.
what do you mean with sign-up capability?
Sorry if i was unclear. Simply the ability for a user to sign up for an event... input their information, receive a notification email and possibly compile a list of attendees in the backend (or something like that).
If that is all what you need, I think this should be possible with every of them or with events as resources or with something like migxCalendars (currently in the works), with a formit-hook (formit2db for example), which stores the event_id and user-infos into a custom-table, if you can fetch the event-id on the event-detail-page somehow.
The listing in the backend could be done with a MIGXdb-CMP.
Thanks for your input. migxCalendars sounds ideal (i've been using migx for a lot of other stuff as well -- really should come standard with ModX...). I'm not much of a coder unfortunately (although i am working on it)... How would I go about starting to implement a per-event formit hook with EventsX or mxCalendar? Thanks again.
I'm not sure, but I think you can put your form into the mxCalendars - detail - tpl - chunk and use a hidden field like
<input type="hidden" value="[[+id]]" name="event_id" />
together with the other form-fields, to get the event-id submitted.
