So I am almost finished developing the site I am working on ... I have learned TONS about ModX and love it more every day. I'm down to my last issue and I have Googled and searched the forums with no success. Perhaps I am just wording it wrong.
I want my backend users to ONLY have access to one resource parent folder and child resources, and I want the only thing that appears in the File tab to be a certain folder under "assets". Can someone point me to a site or article that explains those types of permissions or offer some quick insight as to how I can accomplish that task?

Thanks to Bob's notes I finally found online, I figured out how to restrict Resources (pretty cool!). Now to work on the File directory issue.
Media I am stumped on. I tried assigning the media source to the Administrator user group and that did, in fact, hide everything from the other users. But then I created a media source that pointed to assets/subfile/directory_to_access/ and added it to the user group the back end users are part of, made them part of the media admin role and when the user logs in all they see is the top level "Media" and nothing else.
SOLVED. I couldn't find where to make the new media source the default. I was looking under File Manager settings and the setting is located under Back-End Manager.
