So I've set up a user group ACL with a policy template and access policy. In the access policy, I've given the group permission to create, edit, and save chunks and snippets.
But the users are seeing some strange behavior in the editor any time they save the chunk or snippet.
When they save, the "Success! Save Successful" dialogue appears at the top of the screen next to the Save button like it should, and the content gets stored.
But immediately after that, I can't tell if it's during the sidebar reload, a "Permission Denied!" error pop up box immediately appears. They can close the box and continue working, of course, but it's very odd that this is happening at all.
I've checked and re-checked the set of permissions for this policy, and I can't see anything in the permissions that would be causing this.
Any ideas why users can view, edit, and save chunks and snippets, but get a "Permission Denied!" error immediately after saving?
What build/version of MODX? If you haven't already, try the below:
I experienced a similar issue with policies in CMPs, which was cleared-up with simply deleting the site cache. I did this manually (delete all files in the CORE > CACHE folder however same can be said for using Site > Clear Cache option in manager area. I also typically will use the 'Flush Permissions (destroys sessions for the user who clicks it)' or 'Flush Sessions (destroys sessions for all users and forces them to re-login)' under the Security tab whenever I run into issues with permissions.
EDIT: also, you can usually see some type of error with Firebug (or similiar) after replicating the issue. For instance, I get some strange oddities while working/modifying in my localhost build and typically track it down with Firebug. I launch Firebug, watch the script warning/error/console and replicate the issue...just an extra thought. Cheers.
