Since updating sites to 2.2.11 we've started experiencing problems with encoding £ (£/£) properly via TinyMCE (4.3.3).
It might not be a TinyMCE issue per se (or indeed a 2.2.11 issue), but certainly something is getting lost in translation between typing in the character (it may affect others as well; I've not tested exhaustively) and it getting written to the DB. It doesn't work if I use the TinyMCE 'special character' button either.
If I disable TinyMCE and just hand-code it, it's fine.
For the sake of completeness, our full stack is: CentOS 5.1 running Apache 2.2.26, PHP 5.4.25, MySQL 5.5.35
Anyone got any ideas? Maybe I've got completely the wrong idea about what the problem is...

ps - before someone mentions it, I don't think it's a DB encoding problem. Charset/collation is utf8_general_ci and I have no problem with Evo (1.0.12) sites that use the same setup.
