      was there a server update?

      every page or chunk/template etc you save will have these "quotes"
      when there is " it becomes \\"

      you can fix that prolly by php.ini or .htaccess

      in your absolute root as far as you can go there is a php.ini file?

      add:
      magic_quotes_gpc = Off

      or make a .txt file and change the extention to .ini and upload it.

          Be sure to restart your web server/apache after making changes to php.ini.

          You could also add:
          php_flag magic_quotes_gpc off

          to your .htaccess file.

              Changing the setting will prevent it from doing it any more, but it won't fix the ones that were already done.

                  If your magic_quotes setting won't take
                  But I keep changing it and it wont work
                  , you'll need to speak to the host and make sure it sticks. Sounds like they aren't allowing you to edit php.ini or you're editing the wrong file.

                  Changing the doctype isn't going to help.

                    if you make a new chunk and add -> fsdhfkjh""" after saving you get -> fsdhfkjh\\"\\"\\" ?

                    then it still don't work. you do need to remove all the \\\ out of changed pages only after you got it fixed.

                    like frogabog says: just contact your hosting provider and tell them your site doesn't work because of the magin quotes are on.
