I was looking at the 2.2.11 announcement and was hoping I'll see a mention of some resolution of this problem.

Increasingly you come back to your MODx Revo local install and find you cannot login to the Manager (I've been experiencing this since September, 2013 on my Advance Installs). You spend days resolving it and come back days after and the same problem resurfaces; and you are suppose to work in a development environment before taking your tweaks onto a live site.

This can be frustrating. I hope there can be look into the cache issues that make MODx users mourn throught this.

I would suppose that depends on your localhost configuration. I've been using a default MAMP installation for years with no problems at all.

See if your local installation of PHP is using some kind of PHP caching and turn that off.

Agreed, I've used XAMPP for many years with lots of different MODX installs and have never had a problem logging in. I do get logged out of a given install when I log in to another one, but logging in again is never a problem.

See if just deleting all files in the core/cache directory solves the problem.

My chief suspicion would be that it's a session handling problem and that the session is being lost between the login and the time the login is validated, especially if you're running a multi-context site or redirecting between contexts.
