    I recently set up a new site with Revo 2.1.3 (company refuses to upgrade VPS so this is the most latest version I can use) and got an email from the VPS saying:

    Recently Uploaded CGI scripts that send email on host.myvps.net

    Below are the recently upload scripts that contain code to send email. You may wish to inspect them to ensure they are not sending out SPAM.

    With a bunch of lines like:

    /home/studio/public_html/newsite/core/model/modx/mail/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php:128:    */
    /home/studio/public_html/newsite/core/model/modx/mail/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php:129:   public $Sendmail          = '/usr/sbin/sendmail';
    /home/studio/public_html/newsite/core/model/modx/mail/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php:130:

    I've not recieved an email like this before and do not know what the code means.

    Would anyone know what this means and if I should do anything about it?

    Many thanks

      This message (probably from cPanel/WHM) is simply letting you know which email scripts on the vps can send out mail in case you need to inspect them for security/spam issues.

      PHPMailer is one of the most popular scripts for sending email from PHP. It comes bundled with modx and is nothing to worry about.

      I'm sure your aware, but starting a project with a version of MODX Revo, or any software for that matter, which is two and a half years out of date is asking for trouble. There have been 15 updates since 2.1.3, some of which fixed serious vulnerabilities: https://forums.modx.com/board/7/announcements
