What version of PHP are you running? Resizer requires at least 5.3.2. My guess is that you're using 5.2 or older, which doesn't support name spaces (the `\` character is part of a name space).
Upgrading to 5.4 will give you a nice little speed boost too.
David, that's a good tip about [[+image_absolute]]. I'm not familiar with Gallery and didn't realize it was simple enough to bypass its built-in image resizer.
One other suggestion for improving performance. In your 'If' call above, MODX will evaluate both the 'then'
and the 'else' branches. 'If' will only return one, but
both get evaluated, meaning whatever image resizer you're using has to run twice for each image in your gallery.
The Mark Hamstra
article David recommended above is a good one to read on the subject.
I'd fix it like this:
[[+url:!empty=`<a href="[[+url]]">`]]
<img src="[[+image_absolute:pthumb=`w=[[*nivoImageWidth]]&h=[[*nivoImageHeight]]&zc=0&iar=1`]]" alt="[[+name]]" title="[[+description]]" style="width:[[*nivoImageWidth]]px;height:[[*nivoImageHeight]]px" />
[[+url:!empty=`</a>`]]
That should do the same thing but be roughly twice as fast. With pThumb the difference won't be that great since it runs quite quickly when the thumbnail's already cached, but this kind of optimization can make a big difference with phpThumbOf.
