    Hi all

I have just ported a site from a test sub-domain for development over to an ’actual’ domain. I’ve done everything right apart from tweaking the .htaccess file, and so when i click any links on the ’actual’ domain the site links back to the ’test’ server. ooops!

The site homepage loads perfectly on the actual domain so my guess is that everything else is fine, but the Resource path is pointing back to the test server, and obviously the ’site-root’ url does to.

For info, here’s the resource path:
    /home/httpd/vhosts/domain.co.uk/subdomains/testclient/httpdocs/assets/

Can somebody please advise how i should fix this - i’ve looked at the ’How to move a site to a new server’ in the MODx Admin guide, but it is a bit wooly and i don’t want to risk breaking everything.

    Thanks in advance

Did you run the installer in upgrade mode?

        You’re gonna love this ...

I didn’t run the installer, i did the following:
        > created the new db on the live server
        > populated the new db from the test site db
        > downloaded all files from the test server and amended config.inc.php to point to the db on the live site
        > uploaded these files to the live server
        > loaded the root url for live site into browser and index.php loads fine, but links point back to test server

        Is this fixable?
        thanks

          I’d suggest:
[*] First, run the installer in upgrade mode,
[*] then check your base HREF,
          [*] then clear the cache,
[*] and finally, check your .htaccess file if used.

That’s easy for you to say wink

I’ll raise a ticket for this as breakage is not an option here.
            Thanks
