Hi wonderful community.
I had a friend tell me about zapier, and after taking a look at their options, its looks like we could automate task from ModX to other services like FB, Twitter, etc and also back in.
I was wondering if anyone had used zapier to integrate with ModX and how well did the implementation go.
They have wordpress integration, so to add true integration, ModX devs may have to work with Zapier, but they do have a MySql option, which in theory, should allow some integration now.

I can see the merrits of this idea.
ZAPIER seems to be on the same line as IFTTT (
https://ifttt.com) . Although ZAPIER has a "free" subscription plan, it is a paid service. Makes me wonder how long IFTTT will be for free.
Both services support reading stuff from a RSS feed and doing "things" with it, so it shouldn't be a problem to utilize them to a certain extend.
As an xmlrpc interface (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XML-RPC) is already included in wordpress (and well documented), its very easy for IFTTT and ZAPIER to to integrate WP.
I found
http://modx.com/extras/package/simplxrpc in the repos and I wonder if this could be used to connect a modx source to one of those services.
Definitely something to look forward.
