I’ve been mulling this over for some time and I can’t really think of the right question to ask so maybe if I give an example someone can point me in the right direction. I’m a web designer with little in the way of programming skills but reasonably proficient in MODx - I think!
I design quite a few web sites for restaurants, beauty salons, hairdressers that seem to have multiple outlets - so the restaurant may be part of a chain of 3 or 4 and a beauty salon may have one outlet in the suburbs and one in the city centre for example.
My question is (at last!) how do I list what could be 100-200 services or food courses without having to duplicate the input of information across several pages. So if I have restaurants in City A and City B that belong to the same chain and serve the same dishes, but at different prices I give each restaurant a separate section on the web site and I currently just copy and paste the info from one to the other and then alter the price - this is time consuming as the dishes revolve seasonally and some dishes that are available at restaurant A may not be available at restaurant B until a week later. So what I could do with is a way of entering a list of potential dishes somewhere and then choosing from this list on the actual page as well as having a default price.
Does that make sense?
Many thanks in advance...
Sorry for the delay in getting back on this - I’ve been a bit busy
I get what you are saying and I think I’m going to try the Tableau resource to achieve this but then again I don’t know if it will allow me to list the same item in different parts of the same site but with different prices?
Many thanks,
Chris
