    I'll try and keep this brief...this is the weirdest problem i've come across to date - not sure where to start...

    ===

    Client rang me up this morning to say that he had lost 2-3 hours of work adding content to a resource. I thought this was a user error until I investigated.

    When checking VersionX I could see that he had changed various fields and saved the resource a number of times, but newer versions of the resource had defaulted back to old content. Could still be a user error I thought...

    ===

    I logged into the manager with Safari 7.0.1, clicked on a resource, edited the resource alias field from "page-1" to "page-2", saved the page, checked to see if the changes had taken effect, but the resource alias field had reverted back to "page-1". In fact, any field in a resource I tried changing would not reflect my changes.

    Now when I tried the same process with Chrome Version 32.0.1700.102, everything worked as expected!

    ===

    I cleared the cache, deleted the contents of the cache folder on the server, flushed permissions, and logged out.

    When I logged out, rather than seeing the login screen, I was presented with the following:

    Couple of issues here:

    1. Where is the login screen?
    2. I can see the BigBrother google analytics dashboard below "undefined"
    3. The clients username shows up, top right of the screen!

    I had strange problems trying to install BigBrother first time round, so I thought there could be a conflict. I deleted the plugin.

    ===

    I had problems logging out again, when I logged back in I was presented with this (using safari):

    Issues here:

    1. Resource tree is missing - i'm logged in as Admin with full permissions
    2. BigBrother is still there - no traces of it on the server
    3. If I click on Components > Client Config - the resource tree displays again
    4. System settings, clicking on resource, elements, files tab also displays "Access denied"
    5. Logging out also displays "Access denied"

    ===

    What started off as resources not saving, has now escalated into:

    1. Can't save resources as admin or client using Safari, but can with Chrome
    2. Can't logout of the manager in Safari "access denied" as admin
    3. Logging out of the manager in Chrome takes me to the first picture in this post
    4. BigBrother dashboard still showing on logout and when i finally log back in again, although its been un-installed

    Here is a video of the login issues (4.4mb Quicktime .mov file):

    I had had "manager_html5_cache" switched on for the first time, as both me and the client are using modern browsers. I turned this off because some of these problems could be a caching issue. Turning it off hasn't fixed anything.

    Not sure where to start. I have never come across issues with browsers before - can any body spot anything obvious with this behaviour?

    I'm using revo 2.2.11 and working off MODX cloud. [ed. note: jonleverrier last edited this post 12 years, 8 months ago.]

      Typical, after writing such a long post.

      Turning off "manager_html5_cache" and clearing the cache in both Safari and Chrome has fixed pretty much all these issues! Both browsers are acting consistently again.

      I'm using the latest versions of both browsers. What is "manager_html5_cache" suppose todo?

      From my perspective, it has caused major issues with my installation. [ed. note: jonleverrier last edited this post 12 years, 8 months ago.]

        Hm. Just checked my own site and a few other 2.2.11 upgrades and new installs with Safari and FF, and all is well.

          Hi Susan - I did the same and couldn't replicate the issue sad I'm now 99% sure it was something todo with "manager_html5_cache" being turned on.
