Hi guys, I have that here through Google can translate because my English is not the best.

    To my question!

How about if Modx from each side a size of approximately 15,000 pages gets?

    My question is why?

I am just about it for a customer with a portal Modx deliver on its feet. I Modx because of his speed, and quick adjustment. The portal is more or less only Wayfinder, Ditto and Jot.

The German forum, but someone asked it at the beginning took about 0.1 seconds to the page has been generated. Now at 1000 pages are already about 0.8 seconds. More here: http://www.modxcms.de/forum/comments.php?DiscussionID=729&page=1 # Item_5

What do you think or how, in this area of more planned way?

    Gruss

    Chris

      Hi Chris

I never created a site with that many pages but i think MODx should be able to handle it. I suppose you’ll not encounter MODx or Snippet issues but rather Database issues when speaking about that amount of pages. If your DB Querys just use indexed Keys for lookup (eg. the id) you shouldn’t run into problems. If you’re looking up strings or some other DB Fields that are not optimized (indexed) you’ll notice remarkable slowdowns!
The main area for speed-improvements in this case surely lies within DB optimization.

However.. i wonder how you’re going to handle 15’000 pages within the MODx Manager wink

I personally would not currently build a MODx site exceeding 3500 pages. Others will say 5000 is just fine, but the caches get really unwieldy when you start getting that large.

The next major rewrite referred to around here as 097 should provide the foundation to alleviate or improve this limitation.
