Cannot log into manager after fresh install

I just downloaded and installed modx-2.2.10-pl on my Ubuntu 13.10 server running Apache and mySQL. I run through the install and everything checks out fine, no reported issues. I enter my desired admin credentials on the final step but when I finish and go to log in the site rejects my credentials. I logged into the database and found the the username for the entry the installation created is blank. I'm not sure what the problem is on this, any help would be appreciated. I have tried installing several times with the same result.

Also I am forcing HTTPS for this site in my virtualhosts config, not sure if this could be related or not.

Are there any errors in the PHP or in the MySQL logs?

I got the same problem. After installation in Ubuntu 13.10 ,username is blank in database. Whereas the setup folder do not remove if we check the check box at last screen of installation. I rename the ht.access file to .htaccess then it was able to remove setup directory.
The ubuntu 13.10 has Apache 2.4 which has new Override parameters hence I used the given below code in apache

        ServerAdmin webmaster@localhost
        DocumentRoot /var/www/modx

        <Directory /var/www/modx>
                Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
        	AllowOverride All
        	Require all granted
        </Directory>

I tried to update username in database where it was blank but issue is still same.

I checked in logs (Apache and mysql), no such error is found.

Yeah, I am able to login in admin now. After following all the steps which I written above.
Now this time on screen I got the message, username password is incorrect. I login to database server and reset admin user password.

Modx team,it seems it is a bug . While installation it do not update admin username in database.
