Export from Drupal and Import to MODX. Is there any way?

Currently I'm trying to import articles set from Drupal to MODX articles plugin. I've tried XML, but nothing happens on import. Any suggestions?

Could you elaborate a bit more about what you are using ti import/export and if you're getting any errors.

I'm making a regular export from Drupal to XML. Importing via Articles plugin - no errors, nothing happens.

Wondering if we'd be subject to lose any particular kind of data through over the course of two imports.

I'm guessing, but I think the only things you'd lose are the author's ID in the MODX createdby, publishedby, and editedby fields and possibly the introtext, longtitle, and description fields, and you're probably going to lose those no matter how you do it.

I would probably export the blog content table in PhpMyAdmin to a CSV file and write a custom snippet to import them as resources into MODX. If they're all by the same author, that should be fairly straightforward.

It might be possible to do a copy/paste operation on that Drupal-exported XML file to change the field names to be those expected by the Articles import. You would have to examine the code of the Articles import to see what fields it's expecting.

The bottom line is that every article or post in any CMS or other content-based system has a title and the content. The trick is to map those fields between the systems. Some system-specific data will invariably be lost, but at least those two most basic fields should be transportable.
