Has anybody seen any plugins or a way of using MODX to handle customer support emails?
I was looking around to see if there's a way that emails can go into a CMP and then different users can reply or assign them, but I couldn't find anything related to this.
I had a look at this Tickets plugin but because its all in Russian I couldn't make a lot of sense of it, and it actually seems like more of a replacement for Discuss/commenting system:

I assume getting emails into MODX would require some server configuration. reply by email would be a great feature for something like this.

Yes, getting the emails from a
[email protected] email address could be tricky - but actually starting with a customer feedback/support form (e.g. FormIt) on the site could be a good starting place.
Could also give new life to the internal MODX messaging system, which I've never heard anybody using before.

Have you considered using the PHP imap functions? It should be able to work with any imap-enabled mail host.

I once wrote a tutorial for Evo on using this for posting content via email.

Unless you're real keen on using MODx, there are a number of help/ticket systems out there for group replies and assistance by tagging incoming emails etc.

I have to agree with Adam that Tickets looks like a very interesting application. I was thinking of using it for the Cookbook, but since there's very little documentation, and that in Russian, I've found it impossible to figure out how to use it.
Now I'm looking at
ModxTalks. It has the interesting feature of being able to create custom modxTalks-enabled resources, or simply using the [[!modxTalks]] snippet wherever you need it.
