How to configure localhost to make "realtive URLs from root" working?

Hi,
I'm working on local machine with WAMP (local server). All files are stored in the wamp/www/site/ folder.
The site is working and fully accesable by the URL http://localhost/site/.

I'm getting the only trouble with relative URLs set from the root (starting from the trailing slash e.g. /assets/something...). This kind of urls are recognized as http://localhost/assets/something... and not as http://localhost/site/assets/something...

Is there any way to configure WAMP or MODx to make root path recognized as http://localhost/site/?

Your WAMP root is /. However, your installation's root is /site/.

That is not a relative URL, it is an absolute URL...absolute from the web server's root.

Relative is relative to the script (your installation's index.php in this case), and would simply be assets/something.
