I'm new to MODx Revo and looking for a little guidance in building a TV to allow multicategory placement of specific items.

I have a furniture store client whose store is broken down like this:

and they'd like to be able to list certain items under different categories.

For example: Klaussner Polo (892) is listed under the Chair category but they'd also like to have that resource under a New Arrivals category without having to make a duplicate of the resource.

Ideally we could use a TV on the Klaussner Polo (892) resource that has a comma separated list of which upper levels (categories) the item should be listed under.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks all

A simple solution might be to make a symlink of the resource under the other category you need a product under.

If the store model gets complicated, this might not be the best option in terms of managing your products.

You could look at either a multi-select list item, or tags, as a tv method to put them in different categories.

Again, there are shortcomings to these methods depending on how many categories/products you have. At that stage, you should probably be custom writing snippets, perhaps even having custom tables for products.
