I just did a search on google for my website. Worryingly one of the results that came back was for the directory /manager/ media/browser/mcpuk/frmupload.html

Seemingly a form to upload files to my website space! Since I am a bit of a novice when it comes to hiding things like this and all this CMOD business, how can I stop this and make my site more secure?

For one thing, you should have a robots.txt file in your site root to keep Google and friends out of the Manager. In the second place, that won’t actually work. It has to be used in its proper context.

I tried to upload a file, and you are correct, it didn’t work. But it has certainly been a lesson for me!
