I ask myself which is the best way to deploy from a development server to a live server.

I tested using PAckMan and that works fine but sometimes I have only 1 or 2 files and I ask myself if in that case not just simply adapt live server accordingly.

Also I do not know in case I use PackMan if the transported data will have same ids in new system. I need this as van be in some code I refer to some templates or resources by their ids.

Is there a script which makes easier to create your own packages based on some results done by making some searches on what was lately changed on a development server?

    Thanks.

You might look at MyComponent. It is like PackMan, but with more features and a steeper learning curve. It's better than PackMan for cases where you want to modify the same package and rebuild it multiple times. Once the package is defined in the project config file and set up, you just need to run ExportObjects and Build to update it.
