I have a few question about NewsPublisher
1. Will this be compatible with 2.3?
2. I got the impression that a Manager sudo user could use this without a front-end login, but even logged in as this user it just returns the "no permissions" error. Did I misunderstand something?

Ok, answered it (sort of) with good old trial and error.
1. Works just fine (basic default setup, anyway) in 2.3
2. With 2.3, it runs fine without a front-end login using a Manager sudo user. With 2.2.10 it didn't. Interesting.
Even more interesting... now, testing it again on 2.2.10 it works fine with a Manager sudo user. <sigh>
Thanks Susan. I'm pleased (and a little surprised) that it runs unchanged in 2.3. I hope my other extras far as well. I dread re-writing them all.

I'll let you know if anything breaks while I'm poking at it. I'm doing all of my "explorations" with 2.3 now; I only use 2.2.x to test stuff for helping on the forums.
