I'm trying to upgrade from ModX 1.0.4 to the latest 2.x release. I've had a lot of problems, so I'm starting by copying the website and then I'll see if I can upgrade. I copied from http://usdaloan.us to http://usdaloan.us/dec13

The front end works but the back end doesn't (http://usdaloan.us/dec13/manager). Also, other pages such as http://usdaloan.us/dec13/about-us.html don't work.

If you know what's happening, I'll appreciate your input.

    Thanks,

    Gary

How have you done the upgrade ?

The 1.0.4 version is Evolution and the 2x is revolution and the upgrade is not as simple as just uploading the files and running upgrade unfortunately.

there's a couple of tools you could try ( I think one is called Provisioner )

the more info you can give the better

Check your .htaccess file, when a site is in a subdomain like that you need to edit the RewriteBase line to /dec13/

You may need to clear your browser's cache and cookies for your domain when you switch from your original to your copy.

Thanks. I changed the RewriteBase line to "/dec3/" and cleared my cookies and cache. Now I'm getting a parse error which you'll see if you go to http://usdaloan.us/dec3/ (dec3 is correct - dec13 was a mistake)

Then I changed RewriteBase back to "/" and I'm still getting the parse error (screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/FoJyKuQc5O )

          Any ideas?

          Gary

That's a database error! Check to make sure that you have the correct database access information in the config.inc.php file.

Somehow the config.inc.php was changed, so I restored it and now it works! Thanks.
