Item count in getPage or getResources

I need to show text like "Showing 1 to 6 of 86 items" in addition to the standard pagination controls. I thought there would be placeholders for these counts but I can't see them.

Someone must have implemented this?

Hi,
You have available placeholders:

[[+idx]]

for each item, and

[[+total]]

for the total count.

I tried [[+total]] but this only worked at the tpl level but not at the end or start of page. I only want to show it once and not against every record.

Try it like this:

[[getResources?   ...  &toPlaceholder=`results`]]
[[+total]]
[[+results:notempty=`<ul>[[+results]]</ul>`]]
[[+total]]
