I'm getting this warning on my package management page. I had packages installed when this happened.
I've tried:
Changing file permissions.
Deleting asset folder, recreating and uploading components file.
uninstalling unused plugins.
upgrading modx
drinking more coffee and repeating a few things.
currently moved to beer feeling better but still cannot install new plugins.

Is it only your assets directory that is affected?
That seems to be the only problem I'm having. I'm currently removing all plugins then I'm going to upgrade to the new version 2.2.10 and attempt to reinstall plugins.
Everything I know I learned on the internet. Saved me thousands in College tuition,
I have now removed all plugins. cleared cache, removed unneeded tables from database, upgraded to 2.2.10, removed packages from the server.
The warning is still there but plugins install OK. Very strange. Is there a way to clear warnings? Even though it's working the odd thing is when I install all the plugins it pushes the next page off the screen and won't scroll to see them. I have to inspect the page and physically remove the div.

Check the assets path and assets URL settings in core/config/config.inc.php. Make sure they're accurate and end with a trailing slash.
Also, check the path in the modx_workspaces table in the database and the value of the new_folder_permissions System Setting.

Ok I checked those, and they were fine but it got me thinking about something I saw in my settings. There are two settings that were created at some point (maybe a plugin?) one says assets path that had no value and the other is new file permissions value 0604. I set the value for asset path, and that fixed it. I think I'll delete them. Thanks for helping me think through it.

I'm glad you got it sorted. Just curious -- what are the keys and names of those two settings?
