Hi
I am trying to manipulate feed data as needed but it looks like the options given by Modx addons (getFeed and spieFeed) do not satisfy my needs, better say, do not work as expected to.
Here is my example:
With getFeed
The snippet call within the resource page is:
[[!getFeed? &url=`http://feeds.feedburner.com/whatever` &tpl='feedTpl']]
a demo chunk template I created for testing purposes, looks like this:
<p>[[+description]]<br />
<a href="[[+link]]" target="_blank">[[+title]]</a><br />
Content: [[+content]]
</p>
The result is an empty page. This happens only if I add
, without this, the page loads all feed data as default.
With spieFeed:
[[!spieFeed? &setFeedUrl=`http://feeds.feedburner.com/whatever` &tpl='feedTpl']]
Here, nothing happens if I use a custom chunk template. Change take effect only if changes are made to the 'defaultSpieFeedTpl' chunk. So, basically it looks like if I use a custom template, it has no any effect.
I would really appreciate if anyone could assist or guide me through all that feed manipulation requires. There might be other more professional alternatives. What I need is to manipulate the external feed data to show what I want and look how I want to with help of my own custom html template.
Thanx in advance.
