I set up a website based on ModX and want to implement a system which should work about as follows: Any registered user (Login package) should be able to "request support". There will be certain fields the user can/has to fill and most importantly, the support request will be topic-specific (e.g. using some sort of categories/tags). Now there is a user group called "supporters" who are the only one being capable of listing support requests. They can see all support requests but most importantly they can filter them according to the categories/tags they have expertise in. Now when a supporter sees a request he wants to answer, he has a function to "take care" of the support ticket. This will cause that no other supporter can see that specific support ticket anymore.

This is how I imagine the basic system to be working and I would then maybe add some functions such as giving a review for the supporter etc. However, I want to do the basics first. So I'm not sure, what would be the easiest approach to implement such a system? Is there some package available which will make life a lot easier for me? Or should I just code it from scretch? If the latter is the case, I'd just use PHP and MySQL and fill the database with the tickets. Is there a simpler and more efficient method using ModX?

Use FormIt with a post-hook to store the data, then use MIGXdb to make a CMP to deal with the data.
