My Index.html no longer goes to the homepage. Instead it goes to my error page.

I have friendly URLs turned on and all my other pages seem to be working fine, except this one.

I have index set in the alias for home ( I tried it with and without and it still doesn't work )

I have even made a new "home" page, renaming my old one, and setting site_start to this new resource value.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

    Thanks

Is it going to your MODx error page, or to your server's 404 page? The server may be configured to look for index.html before index.php, and doesn't go beyond that. Check your .htaccess file to make sure that the rewrites are correct. Also check your error logs, all three - Apache (or whatever your server is) logs, PHP error log, and the MODx error log.

If it's showing your MODx not-found page, then it's loading MODx OK. So let's take a closer look at resource #1. It is published, is not protected by any resource groups, isn't marked as "deleted", and has the alias "index", and in its Settings tab is set to Document, and its Content Type is "HTML"? Does it use a specific template? Are there any snippets in the template or content, or plugins that could be trying to redirect to a non-existent page?

Also make sure the cache is cleared, and it wouldn't hurt to clear your browser cache and cookies for the domain as well.
