Custom Manager Pages Tutorial: Missing Stuff?

I am looking at this: Custom Manager Pages Tutorial.

I see that you can use this to integrate a "Hello World" type message into the main MODx application.

I see that something like Quip is using a similar system to manage comments for the blog example.

What if... I wanted to make a custom manager for a Blog Roll. I might want just two fields for it... "url" and "name". How do I make it so that I can add, edit, and delete those records? Then... how can I access that data from my Documents and Templates?

Where would I look to find more information on how to do something like that...?

I worked through that....

This part: refresh the manager; go to Components->MIGX->doodles

Nothing happens.

Argh! I don't see my menu that is supposed to have been made anywhere.

You might take a look at the Batcher extra. It lists resources in a grid and lets you edit and delete fields. You should be able to modify it to do what you want.

As for the menu item, look at the right-hand panel in Manager | Actions. If it's there under Components, it should show up. If it's somewhere else, drag it to where you want it. If it's not there, create it by right-clicking on the Components menu in the tree.
