subscription for newsletter

hello

i want a function on my site that a visitor can leave his e-mailadress and that i can export al this e-mailadresses to a csv-file

it is for a newsletter, but the newsletter wil not be made in MODX.

I just want something that collects the e-mailadresses and that i can export them

is there any module or function that does this?

You could use FormIt to process the form with FormSaver or FormIt2db, or you could use a service like MailChimp to collect the email addresses straight into a newsletter system.

i was thinking: why not a newsletter system in modx

so i was looking for a system and found Easy Newsletter 0.3.0.

But it says that it is for MODX Evolution.
Can i use this also for MODX Revolution, or only for Evolution?

Probably not; there's a lot of internal differences that would break it between Evo and Revo unless it is specifically supported.

Personally I prefer using MailChimp as it's free (until you grow a really large list), easy to hook into anything and, well, they're just awesome.

it will be a large list of at least 2000 members

so will virtunewsletter be a good solution?

If all you want is to collect email addresses, Subscribe will do that. You'd have to write your own code to export them, but it should be fairly simple.

the script to export them is too difficult for me at the moment
so i think i will use virtunewsletter for now
