I have installed mycomponent 3.1.2. But when I try to do the example bootstrap I get the following parse error
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM in /home/paintsit/public_html/modx-2.2.10-pl/core/components/mycomponent/model/mycomponent/helpers.class.php on line 676
I have tracked it down to this line in the mycomponentproject.class.php file
// include 'helpers.class.php';
$helpers = new Helpers($this->modx, $this->props);
I have searched and I can't seem to find out what is wrong. This is a pretty new install, so I don't think I changed anything to cause the problem....
Any ideas on where to look?

T_PAAMAYIM_NEKUDOTAYIM means "double colon", ie "::". This could be a bug in mycomponent, or you might be using an old PHP version. The actual parse error occurred in /home/paintsit/public_html/modx-2.2.10-pl/core/components/mycomponent/model/mycomponent/helpers.class.php on line 676
That line calls a static function in the jsmin or jsminplus class. It works for me with MODX 2.2.10. The call is made through a variable, so you might need PHP 5.3 to make it work.
If you can't figure out anything else, it might go away if you turn off the minifyJS option on line 403 of the project's config file in assets/mycomponents/_build/config/example.config.php.
upgrading to 5.3 got rid of the error.
Thanks!
Thanks for letting me know.
