minishop2 coupon code / help

I've used minishop2 in the past and had success with it and now I'm having difficulties.

I started with mods 2.2.8-pl and downloaded all the plugins. I was getting errors appearing on the pages with the products so I thought maybe I'll update and it will fix it. Updated to 2.2.10-pl and it fixed the errors from printing out on the page.

When I click ad to cart nothing happens.

My error log:
basically a bunch of these.
[2013-11-08 08:32:50] (ERROR @ /home/content/"siteinfo"/core/components/minishop2/model/minishop2/minishop2.class.php : 114) PHP warning: file_put_contents(/home/content/35/10733735/html/"siteinfo"/assets/components/minishop2/js/web/config.js) [<a href='function.file-put-contents'>function.file-put-contents</a>]: failed to open stream: Permission denied

Also I'm wondering if anyone knows how to create a coupon code people could enter before checkout to change the price by a percentage. [ed. note: mandledesign last edited this post 12 years, 11 months ago.]

Not sure about your PHP errors. Is your miniShop2 updated? Make sure your settings are pointing to the right JS files. I'm guessing this is placed in a sub-directory?

As far as the discount codes, there is currently not a way to do it with the stock miniShop2 Extra without hacking. There is a Premium Extra for handling discounts in miniShop2 you can find at Simple Dream. I'm not sure if it handles coupon codes yet, though you can specify discounts for groups.

Permission denied might mean that you lack the rights, but more likely, the "siteinfo" is a variable that needs to be replaced so that it isn't looking for some directory named "siteinfo".

Another thought, you may want to look at using SimpleCart. It is a premium Extra, but it has a feature for creating coupon codes.

I had been considering SimpleCart but the site http://www.modxsimplecart.com did not really answer any questions i would have about it. The features section is really lacking in details. Basically I would need paypal, coupon codes and quick books integration would be a bonus.
