I’m new here and have a few Modx sites out. I’m coming from another CMS and trying to get my head around all the goodness that ModX is.

I have people register (webUser) with WebLoginPE. I’d like to take some of that data from the dB and display it in a page. I’m not sure of the best way to accomplish this with ModX? I have a feeling there is more than one way to skin a cat here....

    Any recommendations?

I kinda need to display the most recent birthdays for example..

See if this helps. http://modxcms.com/forums/index.php/topic,8111.0.html. It is a snippet called eForm2db. I am about to attempt using it for something similar to what it sounds like you need. The way I will be using it is: I will be setting up an optin sales lead form on a site for one of my clients. Then I will use the snippet to store the data collected into a database. Then I will also use the snippet to allow the company’s marketing dept. to retrieve, query, sort and display the data. Any ways, not quite sure if it will help for your needs, but it seams like it could be worth looking into.

      Good luck,

      ADMIX

A snippet can be written to access any database (or file or XML for that matter). I just finished a very pretty AJAX grid with search and column sorting for people to look up their own data; it filters on the user’s login name, which is an index field in the database table.

I believe that WebLoginPE has its own user listing features that are pretty flexible. It might be able to take care of your needs.
