New Resource placed on top of the tree?

I'm sorry if this is too easy, or has been answered before, but:
Is it possible that, upon creating a new resource in a folder ('Create document here') or otherwise to have the newly created document placed on top of the tree instead of in the bottom?
Imagine news list, where yiu have 100+ items: you add a new item, and it goes down to the bottom, while you need it on top (the newest). It's of course possible to modify the output by sortby DESC instead of ASC, or sort by published date, but it still looks wrong and increasingly confusing on the manager end.

Even with 'Duplicate resource' it goes all the way to the bottom. Is there an easy way that I have overlooked?

The tree_default_sort System Setting (under the area called Back-End Manager) controls this in Revolution.

Thank You PaulP, that's a progress. What should I write there (default is 'menuindex'). "menuindex DESC" ? Or delete the lot?

Not sure as I have never used it, but you could try createdon for the most recent at the top

Smart suggestion, but 'createdon' doesn't work
Funny, isn't there any demand for this kind of feature? It seems as very necessary, although I didn't realise it until I got to 50 news items..

I've just tested that and it worked for me, make sure you refresh the tree though if it doesn't work first time

Perfect Paulp, I'd give you a medal if I could! This works as it should.
BTW is it possible that
a) I'm the only one that needs this kind of feature,
b) I'm one of the few that didn't find a solution like this on internet or forums,
c) this feature should be better documented?

In my opinion, one should have better control on the order of Resources.

To be honest I've only ever seen 1 post about it and that was a couple of years ago ( I think ), I do agree that theres better documentation needed but to document everything would be impossible as by the time it's done we'd have moved onto an newer version that completly changes everything.

Hence the nice people at MODX made the forums for support

Fair enough. It just seemed to me as such an important feature, so it's weird, maybe, that nobody else needs it. In fact I'm baffled that nobody needs it. Nevertheless, I agree with everything You say about documentation and the time needed for it. (I'm only replying to Your note to thank You once again )
