    Hello,

One of my sites was having parse errors for some reason and they shut down my entire site.

Is there a way to get modx to send me emails when it’s having parse errors and such?

    Thanks

Depending on what kind of error it was, you might be able to do that with a plugin, but generally, those things are logged in system events and in order to email yourself on such errors you would need to customize some of the core code related to error handling, or write a script to execute via your crontab that could check for new entries in the system events table.

        Hello,

Thanks for the quick response! The error was logged and showed up in the manager logs so I guess a cron job system would be easiest in this situation, but I wouldn’t have any clue where to start on something like that so i guess pass it along for the next version (feature request).

Oh, the problem was with slimstats... I just disabled that as it’s next to worthless as it has tons of issues from not working to corrupt install and all kinds of other junk! I miss having stats in modx! They might have been basic, but at least they worked reliablilaly and showed more than x hits on page index?id=8....

Are there any other decent stat scripts for modx?

        Thanks

I use Google Analytics on most of my sites without any issues.
I just paste the Google JS code inside the final closing</html> tag.
There is a Google Analytics plug in (edit to save further embarassment)http://modxcms.com/Google-Analytics-862.html written By Ryan
which would be a better bet than my half baked method wink

It’s not a snippet but a plugin that automatically writes the code to the page based on a few additional criteria:

[*] can turn it off by turning off log hits in the site configuration
[*] won’t log hits while logged into the manager
[*] respects individual page options for logging hits
