Using the latest install of revolution (2.2.8 onwards), is it possible to create a search form that has multiple search fields (such as a search form you'd find on a typical property / real estate website, that has multiple options like property type, area, price range, number of bedrooms etc).

I have had a look around the web and at the documentation but can't find any pointers. Any suggestions would be appreciated, i'm not sure what the best approach would be to create this type of functionality.

You will probable need something like ADVSearch http://www.revo.wangba.fr/as-demos/

Cheers Paul, i did look at this, and out of the box it includes just the single search field and the search button which is great for a simple search type of situation. However, i don't understand any of the information on the wangba site to take it further.

I have now found other posts on this subject as well, the reason i couldn't find anything at first was because of the words i was using.. Once i used the American terminology such as real-estate i started to find some threads. However, for a property type of site with this search functionality, some of them suggest using a dedicated provider. So i'm still searching, i guess i'll post back once i have more info.

Theres really no need to use a dedicated provider, MODx can handle anything you need its just a case of finding the time to research and do it, a couple of examples of the searches I've done thanks to the efforts of the forums:

Thanks for the links, I couldn't see a search form on the first site though and on the 2nd link, i can see it uses a single search box with a search button. I'm looking to create a search form like the one you'd find on something like rightmove.co.uk for example, where you have multiple search options via radio check boxes, drop downs etc.

There might be some sense in connecting to a dedicated real estate search provider which would already have the form you want and perhaps a database of properties (e.g., MLS in the US).

Otherwise, you could definitely use a custom search form (HTML) and a custom snippet (PHP) to do the searching for you. MODX would do this very well, but has nothing I know of that would do it out of the box.

It might be possible with MIGX, but you'd have to do some custom work.
