yes, all extra datas are stored into the regular User Profile into the 'extended' - field.
We didn't need a custom-table here.

I'd be interested in a better understanding of how data are stored into the JSON format for storage in that field, and how later it is extracted for use. Are these functions automatically provided by MODx somehow?
I'm not sure how MIGX does it, but the extended fields are automatically converted from a PHP array to JSON when you save the field in code and vice versa when you get it.
$profile = $modx->user->getOne('Profile');
/* $extended will be a PHP Associative array */
$extended = $profile->get('extended');
/* Update one of the extended fields */
$extended['someField'] = 'someValue';
/* The data in extended field in the DB will be a JSON string */
$profile->set('extended', $extended);
$profile->save();

Unless you actually want the JSON string stored in the DB.
There's probably a way to get it, but I don't know what it is.
