My SEO friendly URLs are working but not quite exactly the way I am wanting.

I would like them to display as this:

    OR

    NOT

    "http://www.domain.com/about.html" OR "http://www.domain.com/about/prefix.html"

AN EXAMPLE SITE That uses this URL structure is:
    http://www.motivemediaco.com

My goal is to allow visitors to the site to NOT have to type in the file extension in order to get to a page or even see the extension when clicking on links.

Why do this? Because, I feel that an average site visitor cares not what language the page is wrote in and is only concerned with the actual content the page is supplying.

    Thanks Everyone,

OK got it working on root level documents and folders. However to complete this URL config I now need to get it working on child docs.

      Example:

I have a news section (folder)
      URL: www.domain.com/news

A news article inside news section (folder)
      URL: www.domain.com/news/pagetitle

I would also like to leave flexibility for sub folders such as
      URL: www.domain.com/parentfolder/subfolder/pagetitle

Thanks in advance for the help,

OK I was able now to get my desired URL scheme to work the way I want it to.

Here are the SEO Friendly settings I chose...
        Use friendly URLs: Yes
Prefix for friendly URLs: Leave field empty
Suffix for friendly URLs: Leave field empty
        Use friendly aliases: Yes
        Use friendly alias path: Yes
Allow duplicate aliases: Yes (Not yet sure exactly how to save the second alias but it does work with this being set to No too)
        Automatically generate alias: Yes

Sorry for waisting anyones time on this who may have started giving the issue some thought. I posted my results though just in case someone else maybe needs help configuring this type of URL scheme.

Good to see you got it figured out and thanks for documenting it.

To get the closing / you can add / as the ’Suffix for friendly URLs’.

            Thanks, that worked perfectly!

That part isn’t required if the user likes to "hand-code" their aliases. wink
