I've installed xampp in D:\webs and unzipped revo into D:\webs\htdocs\shomey
When I run the installer it connects to the database but doesn't populate the drop downs with the connection charset or collation (which I set on the DB as utf8_unicode_ci through phpmyadmin). When i run Create or test selection of your database it responds "Checking database: MODX could not create your database. Please manually create your database and then try again."

Ive created a test table and connected to it via php. I've tried revo 2.2.10 but have the same problem. Ive tried xampp 1.8.3 on both C:\ and D:\ all with the same end result of not being able to create the DB.
I installed 2.2.2 on my remote host and had no problems - tried copying that to my localhost and rerunning setup but still couldn't install.
I stumbled across a comment in the forums from Bob saying it won't install under xampp because it couldn't find the paths?
I've run out of ideas now so any advice would be very much appreciated.
