    Hi,

I would like to add the possibility to update the Publish Date of a resource through the Resource Quick Update.

Could anyone please tell me how to apply this (if it is even possible)?

    Thank You,
    Christeen

Not sure how to do that, but an alternative is to use Group Edit and add pub_date or publishedon to the display fields in system settings.

        Hi,

I already have the publication field in settings but only of I click on the resource left click on the mouse and actually enter the recourse itself.
My goal is to update the publish date without being have to enter each resource but through right click on each resource and left click on "Quick Update". It is much faster and easier. I got over 1000 resources to edit the publish date (different dates) and I need a tool or an option to do it quickly because it takes time for the system to load each resource and through Quick update is much faster.. almost instantly.

I may be wrong but I don't think Form Customization covers the Quick Update dialog box, but Group Edit will allow you to alter fields without entering the resource.

No, QuickUpdate is generated directly by ExtJs. The GroupEdit is quicker for editing each resource than using the Tree.

What I really need to do is make a CMP with a grid of ID, pagetitle and published on, with the published on field editable like the System Settings, and just load the resources that need to have their dates edited. It would probably take me as long to figure out how to do that as it would to manually edit all 1000 resources! [ed. note: sottwell last edited this post 13 years ago.]

Susan, I think you know, this is possible with a MIGXdb - grid and either a this.renderClickCrossTick - renderer or a publish-selected button or both and may be one or some filter - boxes.

It should be fairly easy to create a snippet and a form that would let you enter the resource ID (or a comma-sepated list of IDs, and/or a range of IDs). You could enter the pub date manually as a date string and then update that field in the DB for the specified resources.

I'm not sure if that would meet your needs.

Susan, the Example CMP that comes with MyComponent is much like Batcher. I don't think it would take too much to convert it to do what you want.

I ended up using a hacked Resource Explorer.

I'm also very interested in the "quick update". I need to be able to change quickly (some) resources fields. Is it possible to replicate the function of the quick-update for the CRC? There is a possibility to copy the current quick-update, customize it and insert it in the CRC (with prepareTreeNode())? any advice?

Thx [ed. note: solidusite last edited this post 13 years ago.]
