A few months ago I “discovered” MODx. And I'm very pleased with it.
Now I would like to make a big site with lots of resources, but I'm afraid of it.
I foresee that resources are over 2000. Is it possible to MODX do this?
Will it withstand the tree? Are there other ways to add content in another window?
I would love to get a professional answer!

    Regards

That should not be a problem at all. See for example

Are there other ways to add content in another window?
What do you mean by that?

It is possible to do, certainly. It's probably best at this time that sites like that use Revolution, although there are some interesting developments in Evolution for dealing with thousands of resources.

Yes, that will bog down the Tree. There are several methods to overcome this in Revolution.

        1. Articles - a custom Resource type especially designed for blogging. The individual blog resources are not displayed in the Tree, and are managed in the main Articles resource.

        2. MIGXdb - using a MIGXdb TV to do a simplified version of #1. The child resources are not displayed in the Tree, and are managed through a MIGXdb TV in the parent resource.

        3. MIGXdb-driven CMP - Similar to #2, but using a Custom Manger Page (CMP) to manage the hidden resources.

These "hidden" resources can be accessed using Wayfinder, getResources or any other method used to work with resources. Articles by default sets its child resources to hide in menus, so this needs to be taken into account when using listing snippets - using the &ignoreHidden property in Wayfinder to ignore the "hide in menu" setting for example. I have an ~2500 resource site running on a shared server without much trouble. In my experience it seems the tree runs ok. Occasionally a parent folder won't open without refreshing the tree but it's not that common an occurrence.

Ah, sorry. My eyes letting me down... I thought that was 20,000 resources! 2,000 is no problem, Evo or Revo.

Thanks to all who answered me. It was important to me and designing of the site.
Based on your answers I made the decision to organize content in a traditional way - as resources.
However sottwell gave me a very detailed answer and to expand my knowledge I'm going to look into these other ways of future projects.

              Thanks again!
