O.k. I'll try to explain this the best I can.

I have a site for client and here is the address: http://www.lvcil.org

They have a program called S2L and wanted to created new look for those pages. They also want the address to be: http://www.lvcil.org/s2l - makes sense. However, ModX doesn't seem to like s2l. When you put that address in I get this:

    Index of /s2l

    Parent Directory
    .DS_Store
    assets/
    Apache/2.2.23 (Unix) mod_ssl/2.2.23 OpenSSL/1.0.0-fips mod_auth_passthrough/2.1 mod_bwlimited/1.4 FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 Server at www.lvcil.org Port 80

I can change that directory to any other name that I want and it works. Doesn't like s2l.

    So, any thoughts?

    Does this make sense?

Hoping someone has an answer. [ed. note: mdsdesign last edited this post 12 years, 11 months ago.]

Something in the htaccess file that is confusing it? If so, how would I change that? Wouldn't want to break something else. Also, probably a little bit over my head.

Can you post your .htaccess ? And do you have more info on the s2l program?

What kind of information do you want on the S2L program? It's not an "Application" or "Software" - Maybe I should have made that a bit clearer - it's a program for disabled kids. You can see the site by going to: http://www.lvcil.org/s2l-home

We just don't want to have the -home as part of the address.

            Here is the .htaccess

            # MODX supports Friendly URLs via this .htaccess file. You must serve web
            # pages via Apache with mod_rewrite to use this functionality, and you must
            # change the file name from ht.access to .htaccess.
            #
            # Make sure RewriteBase points to the directory where you installed MODX.
            # E.g., "/modx" if your installation is in a "modx" subdirectory.
            #
            # You may choose to make your URLs non-case-sensitive by adding a NC directive
            # to your rule: RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php?q=$1 [L,QSA,NC]

            RewriteEngine On
            RewriteBase /

            # Rewrite www.domain.com -> domain.com -- used with SEO Strict URLs plugin
            #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
            #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^example-domain-please-change\.com [NC]
            #RewriteRule (.*) http://example-domain-please-change.com/$1 [R=301,L]
            #
            # or for the opposite domain.com -> www.domain.com use the following
            # DO NOT USE BOTH
            #
            #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} .
            #RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\.example-domain-please-change\.com [NC]
            #RewriteRule (.*) http://www.example-domain-please-change.com/$1 [R=301,L]

            # Rewrite secure requests properly to prevent SSL cert warnings, e.g. prevent
            # https://www.domain.com when your cert only allows https://secure.domain.com

            #RewriteRule (.*) https://example-domain-please-change.com/$1 [R=301,L]

Ah, never mind, i indeed thought it was a software program ;-)

.htaccess is very basic and from what i can see that is not interfering with anything.

Only thing i can come up with is that you have a folder in your root that is called 's2l' since it opens up as a folder.

looks like you don't have 'index.php' in your list of possible DirectoryIndex'es.

If I add index.php to the URL it's looking good: http://www.lvcil.org/s2l/index.php

Try adding index.php to your .htaccess file:
                DirectoryIndex index.php

Alternatively add it to your Apache .conf file (eg httpd.conf) - in case you have access to it.

                  ▙▚▚▜ I don't think I can, you see, I'd have to want to ▙▚▚▜

Ahhh... yes I do. That is probably it. I forgot I put the assets in a different folder for that program. No wonder it's confused. I'll change some things around and see if it fixes it.

                  Thanks!

It of course was my fault. I had a directory called s2l - thanks for pointing that out to me thapriest86. A real bonehead move.

                    Thanks!
