Answered Events Resources MIGXdb CMP tutorial inoperable Template Variables

I'm trying to follow the MIGXdb tutorial: http://rtfm.modx.com/extras/revo/migxdb/migxdb.tutorials/migxdb.manage-events-resources-in-a-cmp-with-help-of-migxdb and cannot get it to show, render, or add the template variable values. Is there something missing from the tutorial? Is this based on another MIGX package being installed? I cannot find any references to it anywhere in the forums. It seems to be related to the events.config.inc.php

Nevermind, After spending a whole day beating my head against the wall, I found another forum post that explained it. The childresources package was removed from MIGX making the tutorials that rely upon them not fully fuction unless the folder is downloaded from the archived version in the repository and placed into the /core/components/migx/processors/mgr/ folder. I am not sure if I should use on a depreciated? feature in MIGX that may not work in a future release.
