I have installed it through the package manager successfully but can't get it to work. Is there any way I can troubleshoot it? I don't see it in the snippets or plugins Elements.
I'm using it like the example [[#1.pagetitle]] and resource 1 does exist.
Thanks

It actually uses an extension of the modParser. What version of MODx are you using?
Sorry that would probably be helpful. Been around here long enough that you would think I would know the drill.
Its 2.2.6 on a Centos box. PHP 5.3.26

Hm. I just installed it again on a new 2.2.9 installation, and it works right out of the box. Maybe 2.2.6 didn't allow the System Setting override of the parser class.

Hm. Installed a 2.2.6 and installed fastField, definitely doesn't work on 2.2.6
Beginning with 2.2.7 in modx.class.php
public function getParser() {
return $this->getService('parser', $this->getOption('parser_class', null, 'modParser'), $this->getOption('parser_class_path', null, ''));
}

upgraded to 2.2.9 and it works like charm. Thanks again for your help. Someone may want to update the package to indicate it requires 2.2.7+ (right now it just says 2.2.)

And with a requirement like that, it won't even show up in the Package Manager.
To be honest, nobody should be running less than 2.2.8 because of some security holes that were patched.
