Gallery 1.5.2 - how to avoid renaming of image files?

A potential client has a model website with MODX 2.2.6 and Gallery 1.5.2. When uploading images via Gallery, the images are renamed with numbers, i.e. 2346.jpg

Can this be stopped, the client wants to keep the given file names for the images as there is model and agency info for downloads in it.

Interestingly, the img alt attribute is displaying the original file name.

That doesn't seem to be avoidable in Gallery. Although not free, MoreGallery preserves filenames: https://www.modmore.com/beta/
